The Annual Transporter's Function was recently hosted by Omnia at University on the banks of the Vaal River.

The afternoon was attended by personnel from Logistics International and Sizanani, our 4PL partners, hautiers contracted for all our outbound logistics, and Omnia personnel.

The purpose of the function was not only to thank the hauliers for their service over the last season, but also to create a forum where all parties involved in the Omnia Logistics function, were able to air their views, therebylielping to ensure another season of efficient and professional service to our valued clients.

DISTRIBUTION

Gordon Hesom, our Supply Chain Director, in the opening speech, highlighted the importance of distribution in adding value to our customers. He re-emphasized the Nutriology^TM concept and how the Logistics function fits into the Ornnia vision.

Christo Rothman, MD of Sizanani, shared the future developments of the Sizanani internet-based system, aimed at increasing beneficial use to both clients and hauliers

Prof du Plessis, Director of Logistics International, spoke about the logistics global environment and how South Africa is positioning itself to become a key player within the global market.

During the awards ceremony the top four contractors received prizes in recognition of their outstanding service. This service is measured using indicators from the Sizanani system. The top four for 2003 were:

The Fourth Party Logistics Solution (4PL) formed by Omnia/Logisties International/Sizanani/Service Providers (hauliers) as a long term joint venture, is now entering its fourth year. The successes achieved by this partnership wfll not only continue to effectively optimize our outbound logistics, but "I also he extended to include all our inbound logistics; thus tying into the Omnia Nutriology^TM concept for the ultimate benefit of our clients, internally and externally.
